St Giles
Are you interested in enrolling your children in an English course that allows them to learn and travel to take in the sights the UK offers?
If so, our Explorer Tours makes the choice between exploring Northern cities or London.
This week-long tour allows students and parents to explore the North of the UK or London before they end their studies in the UK. Students will visit famous cities like Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh, and York for Northern City Tours.
The Explorer Tour is a unique experience that combines learning and travelling. A variety of excursions will give tour participants the chance to practice daily conversation in English while travelling, giving a more realistic experience that cannot be replicated in classrooms.
Travelling between cities will also help students understand different accents and dialects, further enhancing their abilities to speak the local informal language.
The tour lasts over 6 nights in 3* hotel accommodations for group participants. One night will be spent in London student accommodation with shared bathroom facilities if you take the Northern City Explorer Tour.
Hotel accommodation will be within city centres on a shared twin-room basis with bathroom facilities.
A trip to the UK would not be complete without experiencing the capital’s most beautiful and iconic spots and attractions. St Giles’ London Explorer Tours is a week filled with touring London’s essential attractions.
London features many world-renowned landmarks. Our students will start their tour at the wonderful Science Museum, featuring a world-class collection of scientific, technological, and medical advancements worldwide.
Throughout the week, the tour will also take students to popular attraction sites like Westminster Abbey, the historic Tower Bridge, and the Tower of London.
There will also be many opportunities throughout the week to dine and shop in the city’s copious amounts of dining and shopping opportunities. Visits to Covent Garden, Seven Dials, and Spitalfields Market offer the chance to dine and shop at London’s most popular stores.
The tour begins at Liverpool, often referred to as the birthplace of modern music and the Beatles, and a previous European Capital of Culture.
2024 has been an awesome year for the city. It has welcomed the world’s most famous racehorse, christened a new luxury cruise liner, thrown a big party on the Pier Head and in the Park, and welcomed pop royalty.
The city’s innovation and smart regulation to rapidly decarbonise live music and TV/Film productions have seen it recognised as the ‘world’s first Accelerator City’ for climate action.
Our students will visit the Royal Albert Docks, which dominated global trade during the 19th century. Today, the Mersey plays a central role in Liverpool’s cultural life, with the dock being an integral part of its World Heritage waterfront.
Following this, students can explore Liverpool One’s entertainment, shopping, and dining quarter by the waterfront, which is perfect for anyone looking for some well-needed retail therapy.
Known worldwide as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, Manchester boasts a proud history in science, politics, music, arts, and sports. Today, the city combines this heritage with a progressive vision that delivers delight and surprise in equal measures.
In 2024, Manchester was named one of the top 25 global destinations to be included in AFAR’s ‘Where to Go 2024′ list. It was also the only UK city in National Geographic’s ‘Best of the World’ list the year before.
Our students will visit the Etihad Stadium, home of Premier League champions Manchester City Football Club. From there, they will also enjoy the interactive Manchester Museum of Science and Industry on the site of the oldest surviving passenger railway station.
The last stop in the city is the Arndale Centre, one of the area’s premier shopping destinations.
The next stop is Scotland’s capital city, which boasts two UNESCO heritage sites in the Old and New Towns. There, Edinburgh Castle Esplanade houses the beauty of Scotland’s crown jewels and the stone of destiny, which were used to coronate Scottish rulers.
Scenic views of the city can be found through Edinburgh’s peaks of Arthur’s seat, an ancient extinct volcano, the main peak of a group of hills that form Holyrood Park. Alternatively, there is Carlton Hill, which offers a view of the city and a chance to visit the Collective Contemporary Art Gallery and the unfinished National Monument.
Our students will explore the rich and spooky history of one of the UK’s most interesting cities. Imaginations will run wild with a wide range of fascinating visitor attractions.
Edinburgh is filled with musicians, artists, and comedians, especially during the world-famous Edinburgh Festival. While here, students can enjoy the many performances and shows that take place in the parks and squares.
The halfway point between London and Edinburgh is the UK’s home of chocolate. Home to its famous cathedral, York Minster, the city is influenced by its Roman roots and Viking past that offers adventure for everyone.
Surrounding the city’s ancient walls are incredible local businesses, attractions, shops, accommodations, and restaurants.
While there, students will participate in a ghost tour to discover the dark side of the town, which at one point was the capital of England.
Our tour offers St Giles students the perfect way to learn by demonstrating what the UK offers outside the classroom.
