Learning a new language is very difficult and time-consuming, but rewarding in many ways. Having the ability to switch between different languages is a fantastic quality, and it opens up more opportunities in your personal life as well as in your career.
We believe that having a full-immersion experience helps you to improve your language skills quickly and effectively. Here are some reasons why full-immersion is the way to go!
1) Step out of your comfort zone: By living in a country where English is the native language, you are outnumbered by English-speaking people which means that the only way you can get by is to simply join in. You have to push yourself and try to interact with others in English. Read as many signs as you can, listen to what others are saying to you and how they are saying it, and ask questions if you do not understand. By forcing yourself to step out of your comfort zone, your confidence will improve, and you’ll be able to handle any new challenging situations in the future far more easily.
2) Explore a new country: Full-immersion is not only about improving your language skills, but also about having the opportunity to travel and explore new places!
3) Rapid improvement: The best way to become fluent in a language is to practise of course! If you are constantly using English then you’ll naturally improve your language skills quickly. They say that once you start dreaming in English, that’s when you know you are fluent or almost fluent.
4) Make friends for life: Guess what? You might make some new friends for life or even find the love of your life! Learning another language opens up opportunities to make friends from every corner of the globe.
5) It will change your life: A full-immersion experience is very likely to change your life and it will also help shape who you are. You probably have a very open mind which will allow you to make the most of your experience, in both a cultural setting and a language setting.
These are just 5 reasons why you should fully immerse in English language. Obviously there are many more reasons, but you will find these out for yourself when you pack your bags and jump on a plane!
