Caring for children and young adults means we need to think of everything and we offer a complete package programme for our students.

English Plus Options

We offer a wide range of Sport and Language English Plus Options, which take place over 5 hours per week in the afternoons and enable you to tailor your Junior Summer Course to your specific interests and needs. These optional afternoon programmes have been designed to help you make the most of your summer by giving you the opportunity to improve your English whilst following your passion.

English Plus Language Options are available at most centres in the UK and are available at no extra cost. Students can personalise their course on arrival, by adding one of the many Language Options we offer.

English Plus Sport Options

Our English Plus Sport Options help you to get the most out of your summer. Improve your English, while also following your passion. Our Canterbury offers an optional 5 hours of tennis coaching from Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) professionals or 5 hours of fencing from qualified instructors per week.

The English Language Course: Quality Teaching

Our friendly and professional teachers use cutting-edge methods in an interactive and stimulating learning environment to help you learn quickly. The lessons are designed to focus on building your communication skills and confidence in using English. We offer:

20 lessons (16.7 hours) each week
Progress tests and regular 1:1 counselling with your teacher
Small international classes with lots of individual attention
All learning materials included

Our qualified and energetic teachers bring the language to life for students through a vibrant and functional approach. In addition to formal language skills training, lessons include project work, games and use of St Giles International's wide variety of modern English language teaching resources. Lessons will also include preparation for excursions and activities to help you continue your learning outside of the classroom.

Activities & Excursions

Every St Giles Junior Summer Course is packed with activities, excursions, local visits, sports, and games, all carefully designed to be both educational and fun. The programme of activities and trips is chosen to be suitable for your age and to help you make new friends, practice your English and have fun from your very first day at the centre until you leave!

Accommodation and Welfare

As well as offering great lessons and an action-packed activity programme, we want to make sure that you are able to relax and feel at home with us in a safe environment.

All our junior centres offer the following:

Full-board residential accommodation
Healthy food choices, with plenty of variety and special diets catered for
24-hour welfare and support staff on-site at all times
High levels of staff to student ratios offer lots of individual care and attention
24-hour emergency contact number for students and parents
Travel and Medical Insurance included for all students

All of your accommodation is carefully selected by us to ensure that you are comfortable and happy during your stay. You will stay in a modern and safe residence, with a range of facilities. Our welfare and support staff are on site at all times - 24 hours a day - should you need any help while you are with us.

Course Objectives

After you take a Junior Package Programme at St Giles, you should:

Be able to speak with greater confidence and fluency with an increased vocabulary.

Have developed your listening, reading and writing skills.

Have a greater understanding of the grammatical structure of English.
